About Wicked Weave

"Text" comes from the Latin verb texere – to weave, or to compose skilfully.
A text has texture, and texture imparts experience.
Thus, no two readers leave with the same experience.

Novels are texts. Films are texts. Comics are texts. Video games are texts.

Wicked Weave is our home for engaging with texts in all their forms.

Mischief holds a Master's degree in English literature and linguistics, with a minor in film studies. Their critical focus sits at the intersection of genre theory and adaptation.

Sherigan's background is in post-structuralist and deconstructionist theory, complemented by interests in politics and law.

We met at university over a shared conviction that the medium doesn't determine the seriousness of the work – the text itself does.

In a world where third spaces are becoming increasingly rare, we offer a digital third space following in the footsteps of the old literary cafés: places for quiet reading, thinking, and stimulating exchanges over your favourite treats.

Curious about what we have on offer? Here's our menu.

Everything we publish is free to read and free of ads.
Wicked Weave runs on Ko‑Fi (and coffee).
Our readers decide what the work is worth, and we answer to them, not to sponsors or an algorithm.

Isn't that wicked?
